Kazakhstan to start uranium supplies to India by year-end

NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – Kazakhstan and India have held talks on cooperation in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy, the press -service of the Kazakh Energy Ministry said on October 1.

Bilateral negotiations of Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Nurlan Nogayev with Atomic Energy Commission of India Chairman Shri Kamlesh-Nilkanth Vyas via videoconference.

“During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of supplies of Kazakhstani natural uranium to India. Following the meeting, the parties got that agreements on a new contract for the supply of Kazakh uranium will be reached by the end of this year,” the Kazakh Energy Ministry said.

From the Kazakh side, representatives of Kazakh energy ministry and Kazatomprom took part in the negotiations, from the Indian side – representatives of the Department of Atomic Energy of India took part in the meeting.
