Kazakhstan increases car production by 60% in 9 months

NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – Kazakhstan in January-September 2020 produced 53,755 vehicles of all types. This is 60.3% more than in the same period last year, the press- service of the Association of the Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB) said on October 19.

The Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan calculated that the total cost of the manufactured products of the automotive industry is estimated at 406.9 billion tenge – 77.7% more than the results of the nine months of 2019 (228.9 billion tenge). “The main volume continues to be provided by passenger cars – 45 597 units. (+ 52.8%). The production volumes of commercial vehicles increased: trucks were produced by 148.1% more than last year – 5,273 units, bus production – 1,401 units. (+ 65.2%),” Kazakhstan Auto Business said.

Over 4,700 cars were exported from Kazakhstan in January-August to foreign markets. The main importer of cars produced in Kazakhstan in 2020 is Uzbekistan.
