The New Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi to Maa Vaishno Devi, Katra will improve connectivity as well as spiritual tourism.
Railways Minister Piyush Goyal termed the launch of the express train a milestone in the development of Jammu & Kashmir.
He also informed that during the last 5 years. Over 5,000 railway stations have been connected with wifi and this number will cross 6,500 in the next 2 to 3 months.

— It’s been designed and produced at Chennai Rail coach factory in record 18 months
— The train will leave Delhi everyday at 6 am except Tuesday to reach Katra at 2 pm
— Fare for chaircar has been fixed at Rs 1,630
— It will run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph on the Delhi-Katra route
— The train has wifi & infotainment facilities
— It has 16 coaches and can seat 1,128 passengers
Friday will see another chapter being added to the history of Indian Railways when the country’s first corporate train.
Tejas Express, will hit the tracks. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the train. Operated by IRCTC passengers will be compensated if the train runs late.
Passengers will also get free insurance cover worth 25 lakh rupees. While the railways is modernizing, there is added focus also on cleanliness and passenger amenities. Safety has been another focus area where a lot of improvement has been witnessed.
