By Polls held in 51 Assembly seats, 2 Lok Sabha constituencies peacefully across 18 states
Assembly constituencies for which by-polls were held included 11 seats of Uttar Pradesh, six of Gujarat, five seats each in Kerala and Bihar, three in Sikkim, four each of Punjab and Assam, two each of Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh and one seat each in Odisha, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Pudducherry and Arunachal Pradesh.
On the 5 seats of Bihar, people voted enthusiastically. Polling remained peaceful. By polls was also peaceful in Rajasthan.
Voting for the bypoll to Naxal-affected Chitrakot Assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh began on Monday morning amid heavy security.
Six candidates are in fray from the seat reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates where the byelection was necessitated after Congress MLA Deepak Baij got elected to the Lok Sabha from Bastar parliamentary constituency.

Last time NCP had won the Satara seat and the Samastipur seat was won by the LJP.
