Ujjain: Collector Manish Singh conducted a surprise visit at Chimanganj Krishi Upaj Mandi on Friday and issued instructions to officials concerned to provide ease to the farmers. Persuading officials the collector said that purchase of wheat, gram, mustard and masoor is being conducted on government support price (GSP) at various purchase centres with an aim to provide reasonable rate to farmers of their crops.
Officials should provide assistance to farmers who come to sell their corps at government support price (GSP). The collector advised the officials to adopt a humanitarian point of view while grading their crops. The collector was accompanied by additional collector BSS Tomar, mandi committee secretary Rajesh Goyal and vice-president Sheru Patel.
The collector also observed execution work at mandi and asked farmers about their problems. Farmers asked the collector to establish more weighing centers in the mandi for smooth weighing and deploy police personnel for smooth management of crowd. The collector accepted the demands of the farmers and assured them to take necessary action. He advised the farmers to have patience and assured that crops of registered farmers will certainly be purchased as per GSP.
The collector instructed the officials to send messages on their registered phone numbers and manage crowd during weighing of crops. The collector insisted on providing every facility to the farmers in selling their crops in the mandi.
The collector met mandi committee office-bearers and took stock of everything so that farmers may not face problems. The collector appreciated mandi committee secretary Rajesh Goyal asked to make the mandi as the best in the state. He also advised to maintain cleanliness in the mandi premises. Business representative Mukesh Harbhajaka asked the collector to make separate arrangement for maintaining cleanliness in the mandi and responding to his plea the collector told the municipal commissioner to make separate arrangement for cleanliness in the mandi.
