Indore: The city police on Thursday produced chairman of Modern Institute of Medical Science Ramesh Badlani before the court from where he was sent on three-day police remand. Badlani was arrested by crime branch police from Le Seasons Hotel in New Delhi on Wednesday and was brought back to the city on Thursday.
He was on the run in the case of fraud registered against him in Kanadia police station following complaint of students who went on an indefinite hunger strike at Regal Square in April this year. Additional superintendent of police (crime) Amarendra Singh said Badlani was hiding in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and other cities while on the run.
A case of under Sections 420, 406 of IPC was registered against him on the direction of DIG in Kanadia police station about a fortnight ago on the complaint of students for not conducting classes and providing poor facilities despite taking full fees. The teachers were also not paid salaries.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan police visited city to take Badlani following a production warrant issued in another case of fraud registered against him in Rajasthan.
